The study aimed to examine the relationships between student debt, mental health and academic performance. The researchers conducted an electronic survey of all medical undergraduate students to collect information about their the demographics, debt, income and stress. Furthermore, the researchers also obtained their examination results. Statistical analyses of the relationships between debt, performance and stress were performed and it was found that no direct correlation between debt, class ranking or overall health score. It was interpreted that students' perceptions of their own levels of debt rather than level of debt per serelates to performance.
