While all three of the series belong to the genre of science fiction with a multiplicity of narratives that open through travel through time and galactic space, the Star Wars and Star Trek series are much more similar in their theme than Dr. Who. This is because both Star Wars and Star Trek are larger in scale than Doctor Who with their various species, planets, vehicles, and organizations. almost every alien species used in Star Wars and Star Trek has its own detailed narrative as well, while in Doctor Who, the focus on aliens is mainly given to the Gallifreyans, Daleks, and Cybermen.
