a. Vicarious conditioning occurs when we learn by observing others. More specifically, it is the tendency to repeat or duplicate behaviors for which others are being rewarded and avoid behaviours for which others are being punished. For instance, we may observe someone driving under the influence pay a heavy and this may deter us from engaging in the same act in the future.
