There are both short term and long term effects of AUD. some of the long term effects include :

> Tolerance, a long-term effect of alcohol. In this body becomes used to higher and higher doses of alcohol after a long period of overconsumption. This results in consuming more and more alcohol each time they consume. This makes it possible for long-term drinkers to consume amounts of alcohol that are dangerous .Tolerance can cause dependence and then to addiction or alcoholism in some individuals.
