The general causal claim is a statement to the effect that occurrences of one type cause occurrences of another type.what are its limitations?
A general causal claim most often goes wrong by overlooking alternative explanations. It maybe that other common threads might be at work to explain the relationship between the variables or the differences or common threads discovered might be irrelevant ones. There is also a chance that the cause and effect but only mislabeled them as one another. Furthermore, the apparent causal link may be explained due to the presence of a third, undiscovered variable. Finally, uncritical reasoning about causation can lead to the fallacy called post hoc, ergo propter hoc.
