Answer #1

b. Leprosy. A disease that many scholars suspect as leprosy appears in the earliest known account in an Egyptian papyrus text written around 1550 B.C. Circa 600 B.C. Leprosy has been feared and misunderstood all through its history. Leprosy was long believed to be an infectious illness, a curse, or a punishment from God. Leprosy patients had been stigmatized and shunned before and even after the discovery of its biological origin. For example, leprosy sufferers in Europe during the Middle Ages had to wear different clothing, ring bells to warn others that they were near and even walk on a particular side of the road, depending on the direction of the wind.
