Describe how being present in the moment can improve coaching effectiveness.
What techniques would you implement, as a coach, to stay in the moment?
Being present in the moment and keeping one's own subjectivity aside can help manifold in improving coaching effectiveness. The reason is that a mindful coach can help facilitate the participant on whom he is working in a more efficient manner. More effective feedback is likely to be produced if the coach is putting in his/her maximum potential in bringing about the required change. An effective improvement plan for the client can also be put forth when the coach himself is completely dedicated in observing the pros and cons of the client. It therefore becomes a pre-requisite to effective coaching. Showing concern and creating a safe space where concerns can be shared in an emotionally enabling and congenial environment is another condition that may help.
