According to Thomas Szasz, the idea of mental illness, including schizophrenia, is a myth. Szasz believes that schizophrenia should be properly regarded as problems of living in a society that mistreats individuals who are different. Do you agree or disagree with this idea? Why? The theory of Thomas Szasz describes the social reason of mental illness while if we look at biological aspects we can get specific evidences and researches regarding the Schizophrenia.

As we know that the schizophrenia or other mental illness can be caused by hormonal and neural imbalance inside the brain and nervous system so that I can not completely agree with Thomas Szasz with the term of social aspects.

If we look at social reason of schizophrenia, we could be agree with the argument of Thomas Szasz, because social problems and adjustment also plays crucial role to develop mental illness but they are not only reason behind these mental problems.
