What are the good and bad effects, in your opinion, of the emergence of global communications and culture? Should we be cheering or lamenting the possibility of one world culture? Does the answer depend on where one lives in the world? Give concrete examples of the effects you discuss.

The idea of one world culture has emerged with the ideas of people participating in various social networking sites as well as groups, in which there would be an exchange of culture. Social networking sites and theories such as mcdonaldisation have resulted in this global cultural exchange.

The idea that a person could have a sip of coffee in a cafe, was not prevalent in many of the cultures and has been borrowed from the United States. As a result, cultures are now becoming repetitive. The unique points that every culture had, is being lost as a result of neglect or being considered as backward.

As a result of cultural homogenisation, there is an amalgamation of the different cultures, resulting of a sense being together in the different senses.
