The  Sign Stimulus also known as a releaser, is the determining feature of a stimulus that produces a response. It is an external sensory stimulus that triggers a fixed action pattern.A supernormal stimulus or superstimulus is an exaggerated version of a stimulus to which there is an existing response tendency, or any stimulus that elicits a response more strongly than the stimulus for which it evolved.A sign stimulus or released is a necessary characteristic within a stimulus which is a prerequisite for eliciting a behavioral response.
