It is not unusual for people to wish that they had a better memory because of all the benefits it might yield. Consider some of the benefits and drawbacks of having a ‘perfect memory’ for everything and after analyzing this, take a principled position on whether a flawed or perfect memory is the better way to go.

Benefits of having a perfect memory :

Remembering all the important dates, telephones and addresses

Ability to recollect information correctly and accurately such as study material

Ability to memorise speeches and presentations

Drawbacks of having a perfect memory:

A perfect memory would also mean that the emotions associated with those memories would also possibly be as strong as the memory itself and therefore with certain painful emotions it might cause much turmoil

A perfect memory would mean lots of data to process and might also cause cognitive overload.

Therefore having a flawed, imperfect memory is a better position to be in for all that we forget we have technology to take care of the same but with issues like cognitive and emotional overload that might create more difficulties than solving.
