Describe one method of observing brain functioning. Include what it is measuring, what that test can tell you, and the limitations it has.
Brain structures and functions can be observed through scanning procedures such as, electroencephalography (EEG), functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) etc.
EEG or electroencephalography is a procedure for measuring the electrical activity of the neurons. The EEG draws a wave pattern corresponding to the observed electrical potentials.Any type of disturbance can be recorded and may correspond to seizures, brain dysfunctions or disorders, sleep disorders, stroke. The limitations are poor spatial resolution, doesn't discloses the etiology of disorder, deep brain lesions may not be detected.
Good Luck!
