interfaces and transmits visual data from the eye to the brain. The
optic nerve is predominantly made out of retinal ganglion cell
(RGC) axons.
Optic nerve, second cranial nerve, which conveys tactile nerve
motivations from the more than one million ganglion cells of the
retina toward the visual focuses in the brain. By far most of optic
nerve fibers pass on information with respect to central
vision.
