Corrections officers play many roles and have many positions. According to your text, which job category for correctional officers usually has the least seniority and a high level of stress?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Local Correctional officers and General correctional officers both have a job with least seniority but high risk involvement. This is because local Correctional officers are responsible for supervising the arrested individuals untill they are either bailed or sent to prison. This is one of the most crucial times as most of the attempts to flee arrest happen during this time period and many times the culprits use guns which may directly be life threatening for the local Correctional officers. General correctional officers also come under significant pressure as they are incharge of the inmates of the prison and come in close proximity to the inmates. The situation gets worse whenever there is a fight or riot within the prison, which may become life threatening for everyone and the person in-charge i.e. the general correctional officer will be held responsible for the same.
