If we were to examine the behaviours of transgenders, it would become immediately apparent that gender roles are learned and not innate. A female transgender is born biologically as a male but would start portraying characteristics that are associated with the female gender. This may exhibited by means of gestures, mannerisms, clothing, verbal communication etc. This case represents the fact that gender roles can be learned and are not biologically determined.
