Yes, students should receive negative feedback because some students are more motivated when they are told about their mistakes and they can work on fixing all those shortcomings.

Positive feedbacks fall short when students are confident about what they are doing, in such instances students consider negative feedbacks to be more helpful as it provides a direction towards improvement.

A student receiving corrective feedback understands that the teacher or the person providing the feedback underwent an objective analysis of their work, paid attention to their work and really want to help them out and acts as a proper way for the student to rectify their mistakes
