(Answer) Cultural pluralism is when there are smaller cultures that exist within a majority. The practices of these small cultures are often accepted by the wider culture. This concept relates to racism because these concepts are often accepted when the practices are consistent with the laws and values of the larger society.

Having a culture consistent with the law is a valid reason for acceptance. However, not every culture has to have the same values, aesthetics and beliefs in order to be accepted. This attitude might engender racist feelings among the majority.

This is the legacy and the effect of racism on a nation. The notion that anything that is done by minority groups has to be similar or in essence to what the majority does is racism. Even in a single household, a mother, father and child might not have the exact same beliefs. Therefore, it would be illogical to not be accepting of a lawful individual of society just because their belief system is different.

The current president of the United States chooses to associate himself with individuals who he perceives to be of the majority and of a similar culture to his. Subsequently, he often rejects or represses individuals of a different colour, ethnic background or religious belief than him. In order to not be like Trump, a rational person would have to understand that no two people on the planet maintain the exact same beliefs to a scrupulous level. If one were to be belligerent or bigoted towards anyone with some difference, one would have to be like that all the time and with everyone. This is not a beneficial attitude when it comes to maintaining peaceful ties and fruitful relations. This might affect the country because once, strong ties with other nations are weakening. These ties benefited other nations and America itself.
