Witness 101

1- What are the five (5) basic requirements of a witness? Also discuss whether or not you think the average person understands this or would even take the time to get involved.

2- Corporate Jails or Prisons?

Discuss the pros and cons of moving jail and prison administration from public (city, county and state run) to private corporation run. Support your answer

3- Recidivism Rates

Research Recidivism rates both nationally and within the state. Discuss why you think this is...be persuasive and support your answer.

In general, a witness must meet the following five requirements:

• The witness should be a legal adult.
• The witness must, with understanding, take the oath or a substitute.
• The witness must have personal knowledge about the subject of his testimony.
• The witness must remember what was perceived.
• The witness must be able to communicate what was perceived.

In my view, an average person would be able to comprehend these requirements even if he or she did not take sufficient time to get involved in it.
