The Irish War of Independence can be defined as a guerrilla war that was fought between 1919 to 1921 ( Irish Republican Army & British security forces in Ireland).  

The Irish revolutionary period was the event that precipitated the Irish war of Independence. It is that period in the history of Ireland where the Third Home Rule Bill was introduced, civil war ended. It was when a number of leaders of Ireland rejected home rule and demanded for a free,independent state.
