DEVIANCE: NATURE OR NURTURE

Every society has its own rules and regulation and it contains those who violate away from these rules and expectation. These people are called deviants. There are deviants all over in the society who decline to follow the rules made by the community in which they exist. Without them human culture would stagnate and could not reach upwards. The causes for this deviance have many topics up for debate. People say that either they are genetically determined to be deviant or not or there deviance is caused by the environment in which they mellowing that is nature or nurture.

There are different causes for a deviance in nature or nurture such as:

Social influence: one’s upbringing is directly related to an individual’s specific criminogenic needs. Such needs are traits that influence a criminal behaviour. To be more specific our experience of growing up as a child shapes our view towards the world.

Other factors: linked to social environment would include child abuse, domestic violence, trauma or emotional exposure.

Biological factor: there may be a blood relation or hereditary factor among the family which is keep on going for a mass era and over a long period of time. It also plays a role in childhood development and can result in mental health related issues. If someone is making liable in enjoying concurrence, and is up bringing in an environment that lacks positive reinforcement of social skills, then the end result can be destructive.

Though crime occurs for many reason there are ample of attempts made to understand the root cause of the criminal mindset. Some believe that social learning and environmental factor are the root cause while other believes social skills and environment play a major role. It is a combination of both biological factor and social environment that binds us into who and what we are today.
