Is the plea bargain inconsiderate of a victim’s feelings?
Plea bargaining is an arrangement between the two parties of victims and the offenders in order to arrive at an amicable resolution where the offender would agree to the charges in return to a less severe punishment or dropping other charges connected to their offence. Although, plea bargaining ensures that justice is served quickly, it’s not in proportionate to the crime one committed. This would mean that justice is not delivered as per the criminal justice system or in equal to the sufferings of the victims. Besides, most of the time, victims would be persuaded to agree to the plea-bargaining arrangement in order to the speed up the process. So, it is definitely inconsiderate about the feelings of the victims.
