How do the suggestions for further research of any study justify or refute the need for a proposed study? How does the justification or refutation influence a person's next steps in the dissertation process?

Answer #1

The suggestions for further research of any study justify or refute the need for a proposed study in two ways. Firstly, a study may inevitably lead to findings that researchers did not anticipate from the start. These are useful when making future research suggestions because they can lead to entirely new avenues to explore in future studies. Secondly, it may also be that certain aspects of the research questions could not be answered. This is not necessarily a flaw in that research strategy, but may simply reflect that fact that the findings did not provide all the answers the researchers hoped for. In both these cases, it is worth briefly describing the limitations of the research and suggesting a research strategy that could be used to explore such aspects in the future. This approach allows for progress in the field other researchers can build upon the knowledge of others.
