The process of learning marital roles takes place ever since children start understanding the roles of their father and mothers in the house.

The children see the roles played by their parents

They see how the mothers behave and how the fathers behave

We grow up seeing marital roles and dynamics through our parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, family friends, neighbours, etc.

We see how women are expected to play the role of the caretaker of the family as well as the marriage and the men are supposed to be the breadwinners and earn for their wives and kids.

We see how women have to put their careers at the backseat for their husbands and in-laws.

We see how women are treated in a marriage and marital homes
