Example:
One important aspect of my job involves teaching. Conceptual
criteria for the job of teacher might include these: being organized,
being able to convey the subject matter clearly, being knowledgeable
about the subject matter, and grading assignments and exams in a
timely, fair manner.

An actual criterion is student evaluations. There is contamination
(i.e., measuring something that we do not want to be measuring) in
student evaluations because instructors who are easier graders tend to
receive higher evaluations than those who are more difficult graders.
There is also deficiency in that course evaluations cannot adequately
capture the instructor's knowledge or fairness. (A perspective other
than that of a student might be needed to completely capture these
conceptual criteria.)

Conceptual criteria of the job: It needs to be hard-working. One should have complete knowledge of the product. One should have patience to handle the customers. One needs the knowledge of understanding the customers seeing their face.

Actual criteria: One needs to have the capability to understand the customers.

Deficiencies in actual criteria: It is not easy to understand the customers.

There is contamination. The customers sometimes behave very rudely. Sometimes the job appears very distressing. Sometimes I become helpless being unable to reach at the target.
