The political theories of John Locke in The Second Treatise on Civil Government; people are “by nature free. This belief laid the foundation of the philosophy of his Government. According to Locke, a Government should exist, among other things, for promoting the public good, and for protecting the life, liberty, and property of its people. Due to this reason, those who govern should be elected by the people, and the society must hold the power to instate a new Government when necessary.
