1. According to Ainsworth, there were 4 attachment styles pertaining to children. Based on the description present in the text, what was your attachment style as a child? Does your attachment style seem to be indicative of your attachment style as an adult? If your attachment style seems to be different what do you think happened to make it change? What contribution did Harry Harlow make in the field of attachment research? Why was his work using a non-human species of mammal so critical in advancing our understanding of the attachment process and what can happen in homes of abuse/neglect?

  • I had a secure attachment style,my parents were always responsive to my needs so never really experienced any indifference. This attachment style reflects in my relationships today as an adult,I value relationships and consider them really important in my life.I am loyal to the people I love and also respect others opinions as well.I provide support and understanding, and be there for the person whenever I have to.I am emotionally connected with all my relations and consider a very important part of my social and emotional network. As a secure adult,I do depend on others for emotional support but also have my own independence and value each others space as well.
