In countries with lower prevalence of child maltreatment, the proportion of cases involving juvenile delinquents are found to be lower, there is a lesser chance of domestic violence and abuse as experience of childhood maltreatment is directly correlated with instances of abusive behaviour by the victims of childhood abuse later in adulthood.
