The Biological Basis of Behavior
I. The Neuron – explain what it is
B)Three Basic Kinds – explain what each does
Sensory
Motor
Interneuron
The neurons are the messengers of the nervous, they communicate information by receiving and sending information. They communicate with the cells in the sense organs and with the muscles in the glands.
Sensory neurons - The sensory neurons are nerve cells in the nervous surrender which convert the external stimuli from the environment into electrical impulses.
Motor neurons - They are located in the spinal cord and synapse, they are responsible for muscle contractions and control of effector neurons.
Interneuron - The interneurons are responsible for the communication between motor neuron and sensory neuron.
