Naturalistic observation is an observational research method wherein, the subject/subjects are observed in their natural environment. If a researcher wants to investigate whether three and four-year-old preschoolers share toys without being told do so, a researcher must observe these children in their natural setting. They must be observed either at their respective homes or school. Natural setting provides the most accurate information about how a person may behave most of the times. The child would not alter his behaviour because he is in his comfort zone and does not know that he is being observed. The observations and findings are then recorded and further arrived to a conclusion.
