My email was in regards to an issue we are having at work. We have inactive listings on the site, managed by unresponsive owners. These inactive listings make our renters very angry, because they took time from their day to look for an RV, and after locating one that they like, they find out that the owner of that RV is not active in our site.
My audience is the CEO of the company and the management. I would like for them to take care of these inactive listings and come up with a solution.
The counter-argument could be the fact that we will lose some of our stakeholders. I believe with time if our bookings do not increase we might still lose these stakeholders, so by resolving the issue and offering a lower commission for our new owners, we will gain new owners and new renters, which will increase the number of the bookings and our revenue could look brighter.
I need a reply please, put yourself in the position of the audience for the paper. What are the major objections that you think this audience would have? It would be especially helpful if you brought in an objection that the writer hasn't thought of. Then discuss whether the answers given to the objections stated would seem to be convincing. If not, what might make these more convincing? Your goal is to help the other student see the argument from the audience's point of view and strengthen the counter-arguments.
I would request the company CEO and team to take care of the inactive listings because when renters get angry, she will getupset and decide not to visit the site again. This will result in fewer leads and therefore, hamper business. If the goal is to make more revenue, then the renters should be able to find the houses on the website and be able to close the deal.
The counter argument from the audience could be that if we do not have many listings on the site (active and inavtive) it might not give a good impression. People might think this is a new website or needs to be updated. This will lead in a loss of stakeholders and therefore revenue.
This is how we can look at the argument from both sides.
