True/False: Vowels in isolation, are produced with a closed velopharyngeal port for English.

True or false

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The Velopharyngeal port must be closed to produce vowel and consonant sounds. Speech production is possible only through velopharyngeal port closure. It is a mechanism which when closed, allows purse-string effect which makes it possible to produce speech. It can also be concluded that velopharyngeal incorrect learning is due to incorrect correct closure of the port. Vowels in isolation are produced with a closed velopharyngeal port for English Language.

Thus, the above statement is, True.
