Outline Milgram’s Agency Theory of obedience.
The Agency Theory of obedience suggests that people are likely to obey the people who have the power and authority, especially when they have a feeling that the person in power is going to take the responsibility of the actions of the respective persons. This theory is also supported by the inferences and conclusions from the famous Milgram experiments. This theory can also be used to explain the high obedience that people exhibit when they are recieving instructions from people who have power. In these cases, the people are said to be in 'agentic state' which explains their behavior.
