How did psychological testing become so prevalent in modern society?

Answer #1

Psychological testing was used only for the mentally ill people and at the beginning, it was only knowledge that was required at the workplace but later they insisted on skill. Once skill was acquired, the person’s personality, motivation, team work etc. came to the forefront, thus employers designed psychometric tests to check whether one has the necessary psychological make-up to work in their organisation. This was later adopted by the schools in order to identify the personality, intelligence quotient and learning styles in order to help the children better. So, now almost all the educational institutions, companies during their placement processes and even some hospitals use psychological testing in order to assess the candidate well.
