Boby takes the Big Smarts mental abilities test and gets a raw score of 42. How is he to interpret this score?

Answer #1

We have been given a raw score of 42 for the person who took the score but it is imperative to understand that we cannot say a lot about the score with just the raw score. This test is dependent on comparisons with other test takers for appropriate inferences from the test. Thus, the significance of the test depends on the performance of others who took the test and therefore, something like a percentile is needed to interpret the scores.
