Do you agree on using the death penalty for a person charged with heinous crimes? Some people agree and some people do not believe death penalty should exist. Analyze this using the Kohlberg's stages of Moral Judgment. Further explore this using Carol Gilligan's care and Justice perspective.
According to Kohl regs third stage of moral development, there is a conventional view towards morality which can help explain the theory and mindset behind pro death penalty.
That is, the conventional outlook which means that the drivers against social expectations and social norms, which are standard, are supposed to be thwarted. Which means that the death penalty helps put an end to the source, the convict, of the heinous crime, which is driving away from the standardized norm.
If we are to look at this from Gilligan's perspective, there is a form of acceptability in the moraliy of an individual that correctional facilities need to facilitate in order to help the convicts. That is, people are meant to be and should be understood according to their varying vulnerabilities.
Thus, making death penalty a morally void course of action.
