Divine command theory is a meta-ethical theory. It is also called theological voluntarism. According to it, the morally good action is similar to action commanded by God.

The argument against Divine Command Theory (DCT), formalized by Web Morriston is given below.

1. Divine command Theory says that whatever God command is obligatory (morally).

2. God can command action Y.

3. So, if Devine command theory is true Y could be obligatory(morally).

4. But Y cannot be obligatory(morally).

Hence, Divine command theory is false. (Morriston 251).
