He affirms the marketplace as the monarchy where the topic of sweatshops must be determined. He shows examples where effort taken to “improve the conditions of the marketplace” has hold “tragic consequences”. He affirms the market place as humiliating classical liberal approach. In this, maitland suggest that if one really wishes to help the workers, they will support the market in self correction and ensure that it is morally correct to embrace in the name of economic understanding.
