Name two aspects of a research study that must be considered when determining if it is ethical.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

One of the most important aspects that would determine whether a study is ethical or not is informed consent. This would mean that the research participants should be given details about the study, their part in the study in every stage, the purpose of the study and its benefits to the participants and the wider community. It should thus, request voluntary participation in order to ensure that the participants make an autonomous decision to part take in the study. Second important aspect is the privacy and confidentiality of the research participants and their data. It would require the researcher to keep the details of the participants and the data obtained from them secret in order to ensure that they are not affected using this data.
