Answer #1

In my view, authoritative parenting is perhaps the most effective form of raising a child. Parents who employ this style are responsive to the child's emotional needs while having high standards. They set limits and are very consistent in enforcing boundaries. A socially and emotionally well-adjusted child would require an environment that is supportive to his/her positive qualities. In fact, this style of parenting may even develop the child’s qualities fiurther as authoritative parenting is linked to children’s sense of independence, self-esteem, emotional and behavioural regulation, and competence.
