You and a friend, Elliott, are enjoying your conversation at a local coffee shop when you both take a bathroom break. You arrive at the two-bathroom doors and see each door labeled with the sign ALL-GENDER RESTROOM. Upon returning to the table, Elliott remarks, “What’s up with those bathrooms? Women should use the women’s room and men should use the men’s room.” You decide to take this opportunity to share what you have learned about sex and gender. Answer #1

Sex and Gender are two different things.Sex refers to the male and female in terms of sexual character and gender refers to the role one plays in the society. There are gender stereotypes in our society. For example we attribute gender to stereotyping. For example we attribute a woman to do certain things and a man to do certain things.

For example in one culture a woman is expected to take care of her family and stay homewhile the husband goes to work.In some cultures they want the woman to work and share duties of household. There is gender stereotyping in these societies.
