Some gang members have survived being shot multiple times, whereas others die from the first, not necessarily life-threatening wound. Why the difference?
The answer may come, surprisingly, from what police academy recruits often hear during their training: The will to survive is a must. If you give up, you will die. If you become complacent, you will die.
What does this statement mean? Illustrate with specific examples.
How does this police academy mindset compare to the gang survival instinct?
The gang members are not educated enough, they do not goals or families behind them. Their one and only job or occupation is to kill people or to do notorious activities. They just have only one thing in their head, hence all the other things start revolving around it. For e.g.: in the terrorist gangs, they are taught to handle weapons right at the age of 14-15, and they are taught that their religion or their group is most powerful, it is just bombarded to them along with the drug effect.
Whereas police force comes from normal background, in order to be someone in the life, in order to achieve something, They do have family behind them. And the main motive of administering for police force is to do something for nation even if your life matters. Hence they believe in sacrificing for their country, city, people etc. They take death or face death in this way, about being patriotic..
