Do genetics play a significant role in human attraction? Defend a position (yes or no). Use evidence to support your position. Identify the evidence you present as causal, correlational or of some other type.
Genetics plays a significant role in human attraction as according to scientist humans have evolved to sniff out partners having different immunity genes i.e. the MHC genes because they tend to produce healthier children with stronger immune systems. It is found that real partners had significantly more MHC dissimilarities than we could have expected to find simply by chance (The Guardian, 2009). This is a co-relational research as we are trying to find a relationship here i.e. the dissimilarity of MHC genes and attraction towards the opposite gender.
