According to researchers the expression of certain genes may control the metabolic pathways which may, in turn, control our behavior; for example according to (Birger et al. 2003; Coccaro et al. 1997) reduced levels of the serotonin metabolite 5-hydroxy-indole acetic acid (5-HIAA) in cerebrospinal Xuid (CSF) are associated with violent behavior. Hypoglycemia; may trigger a series of physiological changes and behaviors including aggression. These type of research are causal as they are aimed at finding the cause and effect.
