In what fundamental ways do competitive models of federalism differ from interdependent models? What factors do the functional models of federalism have in common? how might the benefits of federalism also be considered as costs?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Competitive models of federalism differs from interdependent models on the ground of power. In competitive model there is a winner and a loser. Whereas in interdependent model there is no such kind of power conflict; it has more cooperation in political system.

Functional models have common factors like that of Competitive models where the dominant power take all the decisions.

Benefits of Federalism might also cost us as there is the question of power winning. Losing to the opposite might just change the prevailing system and lead us to adjusting to something unusual or different.
