How would you make schools less bureaucratic? What would they be like?

The sheer volume of bureaucratic requirements in schools make it exceedingly difficult for principals and teachers to focus on their core mission, education not compliance. For this, the structure of the governance system should be changed in order to eliminate bureaucracy as much as possible. The following steps can be taken in this regard:

• Deregulating of public schools and dismantling the political-educational bureaucracy.

• Creating an environment that focuses on students as clients and customers.

• Empowering teachers and principals to serve students' academic needs and to operate the school.

• Assigning personal and group accountability for all school staff as well as all stakeholders.

• Providing free choice of public schools for all parents within a reasonable area
