Anthropology has four major subdisciplines. They are

sociocultural, biological, archaeological, and linguistic anthropology.

Cultural Anthropology is the study of social and cultural diversity.

Archaeological Anthropology is the study of material remains in an attempt to interpret and reconstruct societies and cultures.

Biological(Physical) Anthropology is the study of biological diversity found in humans and primates, in the past and present.

Linguistic Anthropology is the study of language and communication used by humans and primates, in the past and present.


Biological Anthropology is related with the biological adaptation of the individual. Human adaptability is a separate .subdiscipline under biological anthropology.
