ANS- Possible selves confer the dramatic change in structure and function throughout life. Presently, the ideal self-image is reviewed first. Developmental shifts between the real self and the ideal self are examined. It focuses on a high ideal self and checks whether it is adaptive for humans in different stages of life. Changes that are age-related in terms of ideal self- image are shown in humans and examined along with that the nightmare self is also taken into consideration. Changes that are marked are reviewed.
