Why is it that females outlive men in the United States and most countries of the world? In the few countries where men outlive women, what do you believe is the primary cause for this?

Females outlive men in the United States and most countries of the world because women are more health conscious, and they are more aware of their physical and mental symptoms. Women communicate better about their health issues which helps the process of diagnosis. Women suffer more nonfatal, chronic conditions, such as arthritis while men have more fatal conditions; cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The difference in Biology can contribute to the difference in life expectancy. Women have biological advantages; for example, because of the estrogen, they have lower levels of lipoprotein cholesterol LDL, i.e. the“bad” cholesterol and higher levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (or HDL) i.e. the good cholesterol. Testosterone, on the other hand, in men; increases levels of the bad cholesterol in the blood and decreases levels of good cholesterol. This leads to more chances of; hypertension, heart disease, and stroke. However in the few countries where men outlive women, what do you believe is the primary cause for this is; men may be smoking less than women, particularly at younger ages, and this may be a factor". Increased levels of binge drinking among young women, may be another cause for the rise in mortality rate among women.
