Development in adolescence
physical: during adolescence, there would be a steady increase in the size of the individuals, which takes place from ages eight years to twelve years. A person may be gaining an approximate of two inches to three inches in height, with an increase of four to six pounds of weight every year. Boys would be surpassing girls after they gain puberty.
cognitive: cognitive development progresses in the form of abstract thinking. Before adolescence, the children do not have the ability to think in abstract forms. There would be a transition from the period of childhood moving into adulthood. There would be development of more advanced reasoning skills, where they would be having the possibilities of thinkining in a hypothetical manner, using logical thought processes.
psychosocial: people tend to search for their identity along with the ability to take decisions independently. There’s development of a se-xual orientation along with environmental as well as biological factors influencing their growth.
Major life events experienced were shifting from one city to another that led me enter into a new school, with development of new friends and identity development amongst them. Initially I was depressed, and took a hard time to mingle among the new folk, with development of concrete relationships. These impacted me every time I had to shift to a new place, it would take extra amount of time.
