Homework Answers

Answer #1

Advertising is a paid medium whereas public relations is done by giving the media gatekeepers the information for press conferences and releases.Advertising is expensive whereas public relations get free publicity for a person or organisation with the help of media or press releases.

I am more likely to trust public relations in gathering information about a product as PR entails stories within the information as compared to advertising as it is sponsored rather than integrated. Also,ww know for a fact that advertisement is done to sell a product but PR effortlessly pitches a story which makes their information credible for the consumer. Also PR is a two way process where people's opinions are counted so that they feel active in being associated with the product as compared to advertising which is passive and one directional.
